Holiday Shoe Tips

I love my December Glamour Magazine. It has a lot of holiday beauty tips and 3 pages of gift ideas that give back- they each support a charity.

Also, I am really pleased about the Editorial "31 Days of Giving". It has 31 ideas of how you can help those less fortunate. Love the spirit of giving!

With all this holiday in mind, I perused Glamour and the Mall and came up with these holiday tips-

1. Don't pair a sexy shoe with super-short or super-tight at a work party.

2. If you have a pair of shoes that you love but hurt your feet every time you wear them then go to http://www.abcop.org to find a podiatrist in your area who can help by reconstructing the shoe!

3. Make your heels really comfy by wearing insoles/cushions. Top picks by Glamour's testers are: Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball-Of-Foot Cushions, Footminders Catwalk High-Heel Insoles or Airplus Ultra Arches.

4. Trace your foot onto a piece of paper and place the shoe on the outline. If a shoe is more than a quarter inch narrower than the widest part of your foot, its too small.

5. For those who love luxe shoes but can't afford the luxe price tag, Jimmy Choo for H&M (my fav!) may be for you. Shoes are priced at about $129.

6. Ankle booties look lovely with party dresses.

7. Give the gift of fashion this year. With all Studio 32 shoes and boots under $32 you won't even break the budget looking great!

8. I went 'secret shopping' this weekend at the local mall and visited "Forever Young Shoes" and I was surprised at their prices. Not only are mine priced at least $1 under theirs, many of my styles were $4-6 less. This is for the same first quality shoes in some of the exact brands!

9. Do you live in Utah? I will see what I can do about personally delivering your order to save on time and shipping! How's that for service??

Studio 32 is providing the footwear for Alicia Richmond's fashion segment on Good Things Utah today (its probably going on as i type this!).

The clothing used today will also be featured in a fashion show during the Deseret News Home Show this weekend. The fashion show will start at about 2 pm on Saturday. Studio 32 will be there selling shoes. As always, all shoes AND boots are under $32.

How to Protect:

Leather Even before wearing, spray on a stain guard (doing this before you wear the shoes prevents sealing in dirt or marks). Don't forgot to spray the soles too. If you are caught in a storm, baby wipes are good for spot cleaning leather.

Suede Clean frequently with a suede brush; it'll keep the material looking new and get rid of any dirt under the surface.

Stilettos To make a pair really last, reinforce soles and heels right after buying. Store with cedar shoe trees. They smell great, absorb moisture, and help hold shape.

Ten Trends to Look For this Fall

1. Thigh High Boots were all the rage during Fall 2009 Fashion Week. Although you won't see any thigh-highs in our inventory, we will have some cute knee-length boots to choose from.

2. Velvet. If you aren't into velvet perhaps you can try a nicley fitted blazer.

3. Red has been called the "It" color for fall.

4. Defining Waists with belts. The belts can be thin, large or even corseted.

5. Leather. Not only was leather used by many of the designers at Fashion Week, I have noticed other clothing companies such as Juicy Couture adding leather and leggings to their fall collections. I love Juicy's leather hoodie found {here}. I have to say that I am kinda loving their Leopard-Wash Jeans and these {boots}.

6. Its all about the Leggings this Fall, whether they be black, denim {seen here at Juicy}, loose {see these interesting pictures}, or colored, they are here to stay. So hurry up and get a pair already!

7. Eighties shiny, sparkly minidresses. No explanation needed here.

8. Boyfriend Jacket= masculine, oversized blazer and perhaps even boxy {yet another piece returning from the 80's).

9. Fur. Keep it simple this year, think subtle touches.

10. Heavy Metal. In my search for which Fall shoes to purchase, I have noticed a lot a metal colors being used: pewter, silver, gold, gunmetal, bronze, the list goes on...
